The international Master’s Degree Programme in Neuroscience (MNEURO)
The international Master’s Degree Programme in Neuroscience (MNEURO) at the University of Helsinki was initiated in fall 2008. The state-of-the-art scientific research conducted at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences and at the Neuroscience Center, offers unique opportunities to pursue studies in modern facilities in an inspiring research-orientated atmosphere.
The programme provides students with the knowledge and skills they need for modern advanced and applied neuroscience research in areas such as:
molecular and cellular neuroscience ● developmental neuroscience
neuronal disorders ● systems neuroscience ● neurobiophysics
translational neuroscience
molecular biology and genetics ● electrophysiology ● live cell imaging and microscopy
MEG, EEG and MRI ● behavioural tests

Each student will have a customized study plan that can emphasize student’s field of interest. The study plan includes fundamental courses as well as special items. These may be selected from an extensive menu, including lecture courses, laboratory exercises and seminars.
After completion of the M.Sc. in the MNEURO programme, successful students have the possibility to enter doctoral programs at the University of Helsinki.
