Practical training

Application for the Department-funded traineeship support 2012
Practical training is a compulsory part of many Master’s degrees and is also one of the best ways for you to gain work experience in your own field during your studies.
International Degree students studying at the Dept. of Agricultural Sciences can apply for a Department-funded traineeship support with an electronic application form found in this link:
https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/25053/lomake.html
The application deadline is 29.2.2012
Several points affect the approval of the application:
-
Completed studies and their grading
-
Employer and employer’s participation in the funding
-
No previous traineeship funding support from the Department
-
Training and Master’s thesis periods are different study units
The Department-funded support is mainly granted for 1 month and the employer is asked to participate in the funding of the rest of the training period. The training must be carried out, or at least be started, during calendar year 2012. The salary in the Department-funded system in 2011 was minimum 1071 € per month (the 2012 minimum is announced later).
How to find a training place
Trainee posts can be in the departments, universities, research institutes and stations, in public sector (regional and governmental authorities), and in private companies and organizations in Finland or abroad.
The student is responsible for finding the training place. Information about the training places can be found from the responsible professors, Department’s study counsellors, on Department's notice boards, in Aarresaari (Academic Career Service network) job announcements, in the UH Career Services RekryForum and in the Alma-link https://alma.helsinki.fi/doclink/107423. Please also visit the Department’s research group home pages for interesting training opportunities.
General information about the university-funded traineeship can be found in Alma:
