Apply for the MENVI programme!

English-language Master's Degree Programme in Environment and Natural Resources (MENVI) was established by the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry in 14th May 2009.

The first application round for MENVI starts in November 2009. The first MENVI students started their studies in September 2010.

European Campus of Excellence 18.8.-5.9.2014

European Campus of Excellence is coming to Helsinki with an interdisciplinary course integrating forest sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences, economics and management Measuring and Valuing Ecosystem Services (8 ECTs; 18 August – 5 Sept 2014). The course is mainly for Master but also early PhD students in disciplines from natural sciences/ social sciences/ economics. Applications are accepted from students studying at European universities (including Turkey and Israel) or students holding European citizenship and studying outside Europe. The course will be highly interactive and rich in practical learning. Three top experts from around Europe will be the key teachers (professors Rik Leemans, Jon Moen and Arild Vatn) and several more experts will participate. Two weeks in Viikki “green” campus week and one in the Hyytiälä forestry research station in Central Finland. The course will cover most of the attendance and travel costs.

Students at University of Helsinki are encouraged to apply. The application period ends on 31 March.

Intensive Finnish course in August 2015 for selected international MSc students

In Mid-April 2015 the Faculty will send application process decisions to the applicants. If you are among the selected International Master's Degree Programme students this year, please note that Helsinki Summer School organizes a special Intensive Finnish course in August 2015 for newly selected students. More information in attached document.

Are you joining the class of 2016-2018 for MENVI programme and will start your studies at the University of Helsinki and the beautiful Viikki campus in the coming fall 2016? If yes, you will meet your programme coordinator for the first time during the orientation days.

You will get the detailed programme of the orientation course, as well as other study related material, during this first day. However, already before your arrival, remember to check the 'New Students' page of the UH for practical general information.
