Facilities and maps

Anyone needing medical or health information may use the client facilities of Terkko. Terkko’s main building houses the collections areas, a periodicals room, reading rooms and spaces, two computer classrooms, three group work rooms and an AV-equipped auditorium. User information and service points are centrally located near the client entrance.   

Study carrels number approximately 150. In the periodicals room, you can catch up on the latest journals or take a coffee break the automatic vendors. For study silence, the reading room, reading corners and one computer room are designated ‘quiet zones’ where conversation is not allowed.  

The computer rooms and other locations in the library have about 50 computers for patrons. The library also offers a wireless network (HUPnet) and HUPnet Ethernet access points, so clients with University of Helsinki user IDs can use their own terminal devices.

The auditorium and three group work rooms can be reserved for meetings and educational purposes. Students may also use unreserved group work rooms for reading.
