Special services
While acquiring a Helka library card a disabled customer can get an entry for her card for special services. In this case, the client can make reservations through telephone and the materials can be collected for her. Reserved books can also be sent home.
Equal access to electronic services
The NELLI portal offers one user interface with most of the e-material available at UH. It is possible for staff and students at the University of Helsinki to access the e-material offered by the UH libraries from outside the university network through the remote connection service in NELLI. HELKA is an open access online catalog of Helsinki University Library. Some textbooks are available as eBooks via HELKA.
