About the Library - advisory committees

Each campus library has an advisory committee the duties of which are determined in the committee’s rules of procedure. The advisory committee members represent the personnel of the institutes and faculties on the campus, the students, library personnel and the University’s collaborative partners.

The advisory committees are established and their members appointed by the Library Board.

The mission of the advisory committees includes:

1) serving as a discussion and cooperative forum for the Library and its users;

2) participating in the strategic planning of library services supporting teaching and research, and taking part in preparing the campus operations and plan;

3) participating in preparing the campus library acquisition programme and collections policy, and participating in the preparation and review of the principles by which information materials are selected and acquired;

4) participating in the development of library services, in enhancing the level and content of discipline-specific and local services, and in surveying their development needs and prioritisation.
