Courses at Lammi Biological Station

Each year, Lammi Biological Station hosts over 20 courses and seminars organised by Helsinki University's Department of Bioscience along with many more arranged by other faculties. The research station is also host to courses and seminars arranged by other universities, polytechnics and research centres. Many organisations have discovered the LBS to be a great place to organise seminars, and each year we also host a number of international meetings.
The station has lodging, classrooms, group work rooms, laboratories, a library and cafeteria all available for guests that come for teaching and course work. There are a few computers available for guests to use as well as the University's wireless network (HUPnet). For Biological and Environmental Science courses the stations has a diverse range of equipment available for sampling and analysis. A small number of cars and boats can also be made available to course participants. If you are planning to use any of our resources it is a good idea to reserve them when you book your course. Please remember to also notify us whether you will need our cafeteria services while you are booking classrooms and lodging.

Helsinki University students and seminar attendees account for about 6000 work days per year and about 4000 additional days come from outside the University.

A guide for student visitors coming to the Station can be found here.
