The 10 ECTS course What can be measured - An overview to experimental methods is an optional course for the students of NOCCAP/MoMoNano. It consists of the lectures of the course Experimental techniques in chemistry (3 ECTS), supplemented with 6 advanced laboratory assignments (7 ECTS).

The measurement techniques and their targets are: mass spectrometry, different absorption and emission spectroscopic techniques and also time-resolved measurements applied to reaction mixtures and different phases of samples. Included are examples of chemical problems.

The starting date of the course Experimental techniques in chemistry is 21.9.2011 in the Chemistry dept. lecture hall A121 at 12:15. The time has changed due to the MoMoNano-studentsí course in Gothenburg. For more information, please contact Univ. lecturer Raimo Timonen (rtimonen@mappi.helsinki.fi).

N.B.! There will be no lecture on 31.10.2011. Instead, there will be a lecture on 24.10.2011. The lecture dates from now on will be 10.10., 12.10, 17.10., 19.10., 24.10., and 7.11.

Exam: November 11th 2011 at 12-15 o'clock in room A129 (also known as CHE LS 2).

Resit of the exam: If you missed or failed the exam, there will be a resit on November 29th 2011 at 14-17 o'clock in room A110.
