Research

Kuva

The research activities of the laboratory comprise topics in both materials chemistry and coordination chemistry. In materials chemistry thin films, powders and single crystals are studied, the main emphasis being in thin films and in particular in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD). Coordination chemistry research has four main areas: coordination compounds for catalysts, synthesis of volatile complexes for thin film preparation, chemical crystallography of a large variety of different types of complexes and complexation equilibrium studies in solution. The polymerization catalyst group belongs to the Center of Excellence “Bio- and nanopolymers research group” funded by the Academy of Finland.

These pages give a brief overview of the research activities. For more details, please see the latest annual report of the Department of Chemistry or contact the Head of the Laboratory.
