What on earth is ProgI?
The Programme in International Careers, in Finnish abbreviated ProgI ry, is the student organisation for students taking part in the university programme with the same English name. Twenty students are accepted to the programme each year. As the programme is popular, the competition between the applicants is hard.
The Programme in International Affairs is an effective and intense way of training for working in an international environment. The programme includes courses in diplomacy, international law and economy as well as languages and IT. The courses are mainly in Finnish and English, apart from language courses.
Are you interested in international affairs?
- Do you want to examine the dimensions of the international arena from an interdisciplinary point of view, including politics, economy, law and culture?
- Are you interested in the international actors of today?
- Do you wish to improve your debating skills in foreign languages?
- Do you want to develop professionally in the international arena?
- Do you want to do all this in one year as a part of a tight and dynamic group of students - and get your (large) minor subject as a bonus?
If your answer was 'yes' to these questions, then the Programme in International Affairs at the University of Helsinki is for you. You can read about the courses and the application procedure
here (in Finnish only).
