Membership
We are the University of Helsinki Debating Society, having said that, anyone can join our society, come to our debates and even serve on our Board. Some of our members are no longer studying (or never did) others are students at other educational institutions in Helsinki such as the Helsinki School of Economics, the Helsinki University of Technology and even the Helsinki University of Art and Design.
If you are interested in seeing what we do, do not be afraid to come along and watch one of our debates. We will not force you to speak! (In fact you do not have to say a word).
In addition to posting reminders about debates on this website, we also have a very active mailing list that we use to keep all of our members up to speed. We are very proud of the fact that we have over 130 people on our list. Join it here.
Fee
The Debating Society has an annual membership fee of 2 euros. It is very important that we receive your membership fee, as the number of paying members is directly related to the amount of funding we receive from the University of Helsinki Student Union. If you have attended, or plan to attend debates this year, we would be grateful if you could pay EUR 5 to account number 147035-138659 (recipient the University of Helsinki Debating Society).
