Apartments

The University of Helsinki rents about 250 apartments to its staff. Most of the apartments are located in Helsinki close to transportation routes. Some apartments are also located at the University’s research stations.

All persons in an employment relationship with the University of Helsinki can apply for the apartments. The term of the tenancy is linked with the term of employment. All staff members who have signed a work contract until further notice with the University can conclude a tenancy agreement valid until further notice, while staff members with a fixed-term work contract can conclude a fixed-term tenancy agreement. About 50 apartments become vacant each year.

Rents are usually reasonable.

Six University properties are presented briefly below. In addition, the University of Helsinki has several separate apartments in various parts of Helsinki.
