MDP in Information and Communications Technology

International programmes

The CBU Master's Degree Programme in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is organised jointly by four Finnish and three Russian universities. The programme is designed for students who already have a Bachelor’s or a equivalent degree in computer science or information technology.

The programme is open to applicants from all over the world. All tuition is based on high quality research and organised fully in English. Half of the studies have to be cross-border-related and courses take place both in Finland and in Russia. Students of this program will also participate in the summer and winter schools organised by the participating universities.

The seven partner universities offering ICT are :

  • Lappeenranta University of Technology (Co-ordinator)
  • University of Joensuu
  • University of Kuopio
  • University of Helsinki
  • St. Petersburg State University
  • St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University
  • Petrozavodsk State University

Each university has its area of specialisation and, depending on the individual university, you can choose among a variety of subjects such as intelligent computing, modern communication technology, data communication, software engineering, user oriented technology, data analysis and modelling, and scientific computing.

In addition to deep understanding of computer science, you acquire intercultural competence and comprehensive insight on both Finnish and Russian society. Graduates of the programme will have special competence for cross-border co-operation – an asset that will advance their recruitment in the international job market.

For all information concerning the admissions procedure and requirements, please refer to the Programme's Web site.

The Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University CBU® promotes educational cooperation between Finland and Russia. All the programmes are open to students beyond the borders of the two countries. Further information can be found at the Cross-Border Univerity's Web site.
