MDP in Atmosphere-Biosphere Studies
The syllabus of the International Master’s Degree Programme in Atmosphere-Biosphere Studies (ABS) has its roots in high-quality research. The co-operating institutes are housing several national and international centres of excellence in research.
As an ABS graduate, you achieve a solid foundation for working with environmental issues and you will be competent in various areas of society. You will gain the ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems in the field of environmental sciences – its main challenge being climate change. At the University of Helsinki, your major subject will be either physics or meteorology. The ABS Master’s degree offers excellent opportunities for continuing your career in PhD studies and research.

As a multidisciplinary programme, ABS offers versatile studies in atmospheric sciences, covering physical phenomena, atmospheric chemistry, meteorology, physical geography, and ecology. Part of the syllabus is related to the interactions between ecosystems and the atmosphere.
