MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN INTERCULTURAL ENCOUNTERS, 120 CREDITS
The Master's Programme in Intercultural Encounters (120 cr) examines micro- and macro-level interaction in international and multicultural contexts. The programme draws on four different fields of study as major subjects to analyze key questions and concepts from an interdisciplinary perspective. We aim to provide our students with the knowledge and skills necessary for both national and international careers in which intercultural issues are central.
The Finnish-language equivalent of the Master's Programme in Intercultural Encounters (Kulttuurienvälisen vuorovaikutuksen maisteriohjelma) was the first Master's Programme at the University of Helsinki. This programme is made up of four majors (Latin American Studies, Comparative Religion, Social Psychology and Speech Communication) from three different faculties (Arts, Social Sciences and Behavioral Sciences). The programme is based at the Renvall Institute for Area and Cultural Studies.
In addition to the 120-credit Master's degree, we also offer a Minor module of 25 credits.
