The Master's Degree Programme in Intercultural Encounters
Career Prospects
*
The principle of worklife orientation is emphasized in the ICE -programme. First of all, the whole content of the programme is based on the needs of professional life: we need expertise to meet the needs of rapidly internationalizing surroundings both in the public and private sectors. Secondly, our aim is to work as much as possible with real-life situations and case studies. Exercises integrate knowledge and theories, further advanced through on-site visits, and guest lecturers from professional life. Thirdly, the Master's programme aims to train skills and working methods that are often required in professional life. Completing the Master's programme itself requires skills such as time management (intensive 2-year programme of study), setting and meeting goals, evaluating one's own knowledge base, mastering groupwork and teamwork skills, being able to make use of IT (Power Point presentations, putting résumés on-line, virtual teams, creating virtual portfolios).
Students in Intercultural Encounters are also encouraged to do an internship along with their studies.
