  • The Future Fund

The University of Helsinki founded the Future Fund in 2010. The purpose of the Future Fund is to promote the status of the University of Helsinki among the best multidisciplinary research universities in the world. The profit from the basic capital is used to promote the goals set in the university strategy and to carry out projects important to the future of the university. The top strategic foci of the university include the Helsinki Insight projects.

  • Create your own fund

Those who seek a permanent means to support their chosen cause can create a fund within the framework of an existing discipline-specific fund. The minimum donation for such a fund is only €2,000 euros. The university will establish a new fund that carries the name of the donor and commit to paying a 5-7% annual return on the donated capital.

Together with the University of Helsinki Funds, the donor will fill in a deed of donation and establish rules designating the purpose of the fund. The administrative committee of the fund will allocate the annual return on the fund to the donor’s chosen cause. It is also possible to establish an independent fund with a donation exceeding €100,000. A separate administrative committee will be established to allocate the donated capital of such a fund. The donor may participate in the activities of the administrative committee.
