CHINA AND ILO FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES AND RIGHTS AT WORK

The research project “ILO Core Labour Standards Implementation in China: Legal Architecture and Cultural Logic” (2012-2015) financed by the Academy of Finland and hosted by the Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki warmly welcomes you to participate in its first research seminar:

CHINA AND ILO FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES AND RIGHTS AT WORK
January 17th-18th 2013, Helsinki, Finland

The seminar aims to explore China’s labour issue from an international and comparative law perspective as well as a historical and cultural perspective. The seminar will discuss to what extent the ILO Conventions have influenced the development of labour law in China and to what extent international labour standards are implemented in Chinese law and practice, especially considering China’s multi-layered administrative structure and the incentives for local governments to attract foreign investment.

The program includes also a round-table meeting organized for raising the awareness of the
academic community about the China related studies currently undertaken. It hopes to promote the research cooperation among researchers in Finland. Therefore, we welcome researchers interested in Chinese studies to contribute by shortly presenting their current projects and research frameworks.

We also welcome you to share and circulate among your teams and colleges the program of our seminar.

We kindly ask all interested person to sign up by Monday, January 10th 2012 by filling up the following form: https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/38943/lomake.html
