SMEAR II 20th anniversary

Atmospheric Sciences and Forest Sciences at the University of Helsinki have continued their collaborative and multidisclipinary environmental and climatic research efforts at the SMEAR II measurement station already since 1995.

During the two deacedes the station has become an internationally recognized and vivid centre of research excellence. Its vast supply of measurement devices and continually increasing length of measurement series enable capturing exceptional knowledge on interactions between the forests and atmosphere, and their implications, for example, for global change.
