Hyytiälä Forestry Field Station

päärakennuksetHyytiälä Forestry Field Station belongs to the Department of Forest Sciences at the University of Helsinki. Its mission is to enable forestry teaching and research in the field conditions. A SMEAR field station of the Atmospheric Research Center and the Department of Physics of the University of Helsinki also operates closely associated with the Hyytiälä station. In addition, the station provides a meeting place for many outside events, meetings, seminars, parties etc.

Virtual tour at Hyytiälä

Virtual Hyytiälä explores the intermingling of past and present at the forestry station. It serves to document cultural environment in a joint project by the Union of Finnish Academic Foresters and the Finnish Forest Museum Lusto.

Virtual Hyytiälä makes it possible to explore the surroundings and buildings of the forestry station. You can use a map to choose targets, or just follow the arrows. Collection of new material goes on, and the contents will be gradually expanded. The current contents are described only in Finnish.
