Guidelines for poster presenters
The following guidelines are intended to enhance your presentation and the enjoyment and understanding of your audience.
POSTER SIZE: Each poster session author will be provided with one side of a free-standing poster board. Recommended maximum poster size is 90 cm wide x 120 cm high (1 inch = 2,54 cm); you may use standard paper size settings like A1, A0 or Oversize A0. Poster boards are faced with fabric and posters can be fixed to the board with push pins. The pins are provided on site. To facilitate the set up, posters should be printed on paper, not on any hard material.
GENERAL GUIDELINES: Each poster must have a heading in very large type, 84 pt or bigger. Your name and affiliation should also be noted in large type, around 72 pt. Headings and sub-headings should be at least 36 pt. You need not use all capitals for titles and headings, for this can sometimes make them difficult to read. Other lettering, including text and lettering on illustrations or charts, should be between 18 and 24 pt, and should have double or 1.5 spacing between lines. Use a simple font such as Times, Arial or Helvetica throughout your presentation. To make something stand out, use a larger font size, bold or underline. You can also frame a section of text by putting a box around it. All material should be readable from a distance of one meter (three ft) or more.
You may or may not include the text of your abstract at the beginning of your poster; consider that abstracts of posters will be printed in the ICCA-06 Abstracts Book. Make sure your presentation flows in a logical sequence, and include an introduction, body and conclusion. Your poster should NOT be a copy of your written paper glued onto poster board. Use graphs, charts, tables, figures, pictures or lists rather than text to get your points across. Consider presenting your major findings in bullet statements. Your poster will be most effective if it provides minimal text.
POSTER SET UP / REMOVAL: Poster setup is from Saturday, May 13 at 8:00 am to Sunday, May 14 at 12:30 pm. Arrange your presentation ahead of time to make sure it fits within the space provided.
