Norbert Götz

Dr. Norbert Götz is Docent of Political History and works as a research group leader at the Centre for Nordic Studies, Renvall Institute, University of Helsinki.
Holding a doctoral degree from Humboldt-University Berlin, he has worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Greifswald 1999–2005, and as a research fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs in Stockholm, 2005–2007.

His research interests include political culture, international relations, democracy, welfare state, nationalism, and conceptual history. He is presently working on the impact of Nordic peace movements and on the Nordic public sphere. He also leads a research project on “Nordic Openness”.
