Kuva

The Master’s Programme in Intercultural Encounters is an interdisciplinary programme which combines perspectives from different disciplines in order to provide students with an understanding of the multifaceted nature of intercultural contact. The Master’s Programme is organized in cooperation between Speech Communications, Social Psychology, Comparative Religion and Latin American Studies. In addition, research done in Anthropology and different area studies is utilized to further enhance students’ intercultural competence.

The aim of the programme is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for both national and international careers in which intercultural issues are central.

Mission

Our main goal is to organise a high-quality degree course that is worklife-oriented yet grounded firmly on scientific and academic principles. Our intention is also to further and develop research and education in intercultural interaction in Finland and to enhance networking and co-operation amongst experts and other actors in the field.
