Studies - Admissions

International undergraduate and graduate applicants

Applicants who are applying for Master´s degree study rights or International Master's Degree Programmes
apply within the International Admissions. The next application period for graduate studies is from December 2, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

If applying for a Bachelor's degree study right, apply within the Domestic Admissions.

 

The Faculty of Arts offers two International Master´s Degree Programmes:
The Master´s Degree Programme in European Studies
(major subject at the Faculty of Arts: general history)
The Master´s Degree Programme in Intercultural Encounters (major subjects at the Faculty of Arts: Comparative Religion, Area and Cultural Studies)

In addition to the International Master´s Degree Programmes there are Master´s Degree Studies offered in English in following major subjects:

African Studies
Altaic Studies
English Philology
French Philology
German Philology
Italian Philology
Spanish Philology

All the other major subjects are available in Finnish or Swedish.

Master´s Degree Studies require the applicants to have a major or a large minor (basic and intermediate studies) in their Bachelor´s Degree in the same area as the MA Studies they are applying for.

NB! Through the application process, all applications and the documents attached to them become the property of the University of Helsinki. The application documents will not be returned to the applicant. Only in exceptional cases, when the applicant again applies to the University of Helsinki, may application documents be transferred from a faculty to another student selection unit. Documents attached to applications that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be sent to the faculties. The Admissions Services will not return them to the applicant or transfer them anywhere. More information on reapplying.
