New Chinese-Finnish textbooks, dictionaries and other language learning materials have been published by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. These can be bought and ordered from Yliopistokirjakauppa Porthania.

Confucius Institute has a new Director
 Dr. Anja Lahtinen has been appointed Director of Confucius Institute at the University of Helsinki, beginning 1 January 2012.

An association of teachers of Chinese in Finland, Suomen kiinanopettajat ry, has been founded in 2011. The aim of the association is to bring together teachers of Chinese language, promote the teaching of Chinese in Finland, and offer further training to teachers. See the association's webpage for more information (in Finnish).
