Time, Space and Politics

Master's Degree Programme in European Studies is a two-year specialisation programme (120 ECTS) designed to offer the graduate with a profound understanding of Europe in all of its historical, political and cultural diversity.

The programme is multidisciplinary in its aims and scope. It approaches European Studies through the thematic framework of "Time, Space and Politics". The students of the programme choose their major subject from one of the following:

History, Geography, Politics, Administration and organisations, Political history, Economic and social history.

The University of Helsinki Network for European Studies (NES) is responsible for the practical organisation of the Master's Degree Programme. NES's main task is to coordinate research and study programmes in various fields of European Studies within the University and thus to enhance  multidisciplinary research and teaching.

The language of the programme is English.
