Environmental teaching

HENVI coordinates and arranges minor subject studies called Environmental multidisciplinary study module. The study module includes the following courses taught in English. The courses are open to all students. Now also the compulsory Introduction to multidisciplinary Studies can be taken in English as a 3-part book exam in moodle. If you are interested in taking the book exam, contact lecturer Janna Pietikäinen and ask for the key to Introduction to multidisciplinary environmental studies in Moodle.

Science DAys Theme picture

HENVI Science Days Workshop Course for students

In connection to the HENVI Science Days we organise an interdisciplinary Special course including a workshop, which is open to all students. We have invited speakers of the Science Days to act as visiting teachers of the workshop.The course is connected to a series of lectures. Students work mostly web-based in groups with their own special theme.

Past courses

PhD course: Connecting people and nature - The promise of ecosystem services

Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation and HENVI organised in collaboration a workshop course for post-graduate students. The workshop took place within the 7th Environment Symposium on 3-4 Dec 2013 in Hanasaari, Espoo. In total 20 PhD students passed the course.

This interdisciplinary workshop course 80129 Connecting people and nature - The promise of ecosystem services? (4 ECTS) is accepted as part of the doctoral studies of the DENVI doctoral program at the University of Helsinki. More PhD courses within the DENVI doctoral program are under construction and will be published soon.
