The arrangements worked fine (46 answers)

The workshops on Friday were useful (30 answers)

Do you wish to add your opinion in more detail on the program, arrangements etc?

+ It was great to have different viewpoints to scientific research.

+High quality speakers and good discussions.

+ I especially enjoyed the workshops during the second day.

+ The "mini panels" after the key note speakers and comments worked fine.

+ Especially thanks to Tarja Halonen, Marina Fischer-Kowalski and Robert Frodeman.

+ Absolutely wonderful food.

- The structure of the first day far too heavy, without any possibilities for real discussion.

- The place for posters could have been better.

- Some of the speakers were not scientifically interesting or did not bring new insights to the European audience.

- Overlapping time of the workshops. It was hard to decide between teaching and research.

- It would be nice if there would be water available during the coffee breaks as well.

My suggestions and ideas for next year:

The poster walls could have been moved out into the center of the room just before the poster session.

The time for the workshop discussion would be better if it´s longer, for instance 3-4 hours.

Involve participants better by having after each main presentation a 5-minute pair discussion that allows some reflection among all the participants on the theme discussed.

Do a single day program with keynotes and workshops only.

Give speakers a clear task and question to answer. That will lead to more targeted and to-the-point presentations.

The organizers must personally test all technique on the previous day or week and speakers should be familiarized with the technique

For next year I wish that presentations are tied better together.
