The Symposium collected some 150 delegates, from more than 20 countries, mostly from Europe. It was delightful to see many so young scientists. And we are grateful to the sponsoring companies.
A short article on the Symposium will be published in Cereal Foods World and a more extensive review in the QAS (Quality Assurance and Safety of Crops & Foods) later this year.
In Tampere we had a kind invitation from our Austrian colleagues at BOKU, for the 3rd Symposium Gluten-Free Cereal Products and Beverages in 2013 in Vienna. See you there!

Finally, I want to thank everyone in our own team. As for us, the Cereal Technology Group
at the University of Helsinki, it was a great pleasure to serve the GF food related
community, scientists, industry, and the coeliac community in this way. Our group, with
the students included, really enjoyed it all, and has found the experience very
encouraging. It is important that groups like ours will have the chance to come up with
initiatives in organizing such events.
