Awarded grants and scholarships

The University of Helsinki Funds consist of more than 150 designated funds, dating from as far back as the 18th century, which are based on donations and legacies from organisations and private individuals or which were launched as special tributes. Grants and scholarships based on these donations are used to advance research, education and students' work at the university.

Grants and Scholarships 2009

The University of Helsinki Funds awarded grants, scholarships and prizes to gifted and successful undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers at the Funds Celebration at the University Museum Arppeanum on 26 March 2009. 223 students and researchers received a scholarship or a grant, totalling up to 486 400 euros.

Scholarships and Bursaries 2008

The University of Helsinki Funds awarded grants, scholarships and prizes to gifted and successful undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers at the Funds Gala on 26 March 2008. Over 230 students and researchers received a scholarship or a grant, totalling up to 485 000 euros.

Scholarships and Bursaries 2007

The University of Helsinki Funds awarded grants, scholarships and prizes to gifted and successful undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers at the Funds Gala on 26 March 2007. Nearly 200 students and researchers received a scholarship or a grant, totalling up to over half a million euros.

The grants and scholarships for 2010 will be open for application in November 2009.
