Infrastructure at the Department of Food and Environmental Sciences

Department of Food and Environmental Sciences carries out internationally recognized high-quality research in the field of bioactive components in biological materials. The know-how is based on sophisticated laboratory equipment and pilot plants located in the department. This special knowledge enables a large array of scientific cooperation with national and international research groups. Individual researchers and groups are welcome to utilize these  equipment and pilot plants.

The laboratory infrastructure can be divided into four key units as seen below: microbial culture collections, chemical analyses, pilot plant experiments, and food material physics and packaging.
