Welcome to the Finnish Doctoral Program in Plant Science!

    The Finnish Doctoral Program in Plant Science is a national doctoral program administered by the University of Helsinki. The director is Tapio Palva from the Department of Biosciences at the University of Helsinki and the vice director is Eva-Mari Aro from the Department of Biochemistry and Food Chemistry at the University of Turku.

    The doctoral program aims to train scientific researchers in the following themes:

  • molecular plant biology
  • genetics, genomics and breeding
  • physiology and biochemistry
  • developmental biology
  • pathology and biotechnology
  • plant production
  • ecophysiology
  • systematics
  • bioenergy

The doctoral program is funded by the Ministry of Education & Culture and the Academy of Finland.
