Geosciences
and Geography
To understand the challenges of tomorrow,
we need knowledge of natural resources,
condition of the environment and the impact of human actions on it.
At the Department of Geosciences and Geography, you will learn a multidisciplinary approach to research, honoring both natural and social sciences.
Teaching at the Department of Geosciences and Geography is based on the latest research findings and the lecturers are active researchers.
The research at the department is conducted in broad cooperation within national and international research and monitoring networks.
As a student, you will benefit from the department’s excellent research facilities, as the department maintains up-to-date laboratory facilities, monitoring station network and a research station.
Atmosphere at the Department is friendly and welcoming, forming an inspiring study environment. During the final year of your studies, you will write a master's thesis, which is an excellent opportunity to take part in current research projects conducted at the Department.
MSc is awarded after two years of full time graduate study (120 ECTS), and a Bachelor's degree (BSc or equivalent, 180 ECTS) is required to enroll. In addition to full degree studies, courses in Economic Geology are taught in English.
The Department of Geosciences and Geography offers courses in English also for exchange students.
