Science rocks!
The Faculty of Science has many ongoing multi-disciplinary research projects in which researchers work in active cooperation with research facilities located on the Kumpula campus, other faculties, and the business world. Strategic research areas of the faculty are space research, basic environmental research, climate science, nanoscience, computational science, mathematical physics, data analysis of biological data, and geoinformatics, geosciences and urban research.
Research
The high quality of the research in the departments of the faculty has also been proven in an international evaluation. There are several national Centres of Excellence in the faculty.
Postgraduate studies
The Faculty of Science provides high-quality post-graduate education and conducts research led by top researchers. Available post-graduate degrees include the Licentiate of Philosophy and the Doctor of Philosophy.
