The European Workshop on Imagery and Cognition
The 12th European Workshop on Imagery and Cognition (EWIC 2010). The European Workshop on Imagery and Cognition is a biannual meeting devoted to scientific study of mental imagery and cognition. The 12th EWIC will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from June 16 to 19, 2010.
Keynote Speakers:
Kimmo Alho, University of Helsinki.
Brain networks of voluntary and involuntary auditory attention abstract (pdf)
Charles Spence, University of Oxford.
Attention and temporal perception abstract (pdf)
Edward K. Vogel, University of Oregon.
Individual differences in attentional control over primary and secondary memory abstract (pdf)
The core topic covered by the workshop is mental imagery in the visuo-spatial and other sensory modalities: auditory imagery, action and motor imagery, and imagery processes and interference. Other themes related to cognitive mechanisms in the intersection of memory and perception are also represented: working memory and attention, crossmodal and haptic space, spatial cognition and navigation, language comprehension and problem solving, and sensory and cognitive deficits.
Applied issues in imagery and cognition research will have their own session, and a satellite symposium "Safety in Traffic" will be held in the context of the EWIC 2010.
