Auditing 2007

The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council audits the quality assurance systems of all the Finnish higher education institutions by the end of the year 2011. The objective of the FINHEEC audit is to ensure that the higher education institution has a quality assurance system that supports continuous development of activity.
The audit also ensures that a higher education institution operates in accordance with its objectives and the activity is internationally reliable. This audit does not take a stand on the objectives of the activity or the results as such, but it assesses the processes that are used to control and develop the quality of activity.
The quality assurance system of the University of Helsinki has been audited in the autumn 2007 (an audit visit was in November). FINHEEC has decided, based on the proposal of the audit group, that University of Helsinki meets the criteria set for quality assurance systems and the quality assurance of higher education institutions' basic mission. The audit is valid for six years as of 29 February 2008.
