Jaan-Olle Andressoo lab develops tools to control gene expression at post-transcriptional level. We hypothesize that this ability will enhance understanding on gene function, improve modelling of human disease and provide new venues for defining treatment for neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia. This knowledge is also essential for improving protein production in industry, as recombinant proteins are increasingly used in medicine, research, cosmetics, and cellular agriculture.
