Description of the personal data file

A description based on the Personal Data Act (523/99) Section 10.

The University of Helsinki abides by the acts and decrees of Finnish law governing the processing of personal data, when handling your personal information.

DATA FILE NAME
Helsinki.fi news listing and events calendar contact detail register.

PURPOSE OF THE DATA FILE
The register of contact details is used for maintaining contact details provided in conjunction with the submission of news and event advertisements. The register will store only the personal data provided by the person who has completed the submission form for news or events advertisements.

DATA FILE CONTENT
The data contained in the register comprise the first and last name, phone number and the e-mail address that the person submitting a news item or events advertisement has provided to the register.

DISCLOSURE OF DATA
The data contained in the register of participants will not be transferred outside the borders of Finland or the EU. The contact details will not be disclosed to third parties or used for direct marketing.

REGULAR INFORMATION SOURCES
The register stores only the contact details provided by the person suggesting news or events on a submission form. The data in the register will not be updated from any other data source.

PROTECTION OF THE DATA FILE
The contact details are collected in databases that are located in locked and guarded premises. The data are accessed only by persons previously authorised to do so.

THE RIGHT OF ACCESS
Pursuant to the Personal Data Act Section 26, the data subject has right of access to his/her data stored in the contact detail register. A signed, written request for access should be sent to the competition organiser at the following address:
