Get to know Helsinki on a sightseeing tour
Helsinki Expert arranges daily city tours all year round. Tour lasts 1½ hours and covers the whole of the city centre.
The popular sightseeing tour lasts 1½ hours and covers the whole of the city centre, as far as the Sibelius Monument. It takes in the main downtown sights: the area in and around Senate Square, the Presidential Palace, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, the Opera, Kaivopuisto Park, the Hietaniemi cemeteries, the surroundings of the Olympic Stadium.
The bus makes a stop at the Sibelius Monument and, whenever possible, at Temppeliaukio "Rock" Church.
There are two different sightseeing tours to choose from: either a Guided City Tour with live commentary in English and Swedish or an Audio City Tour. The Audio City Tour is accompanied by a soundtrack using a unique technique to create a fitting sound world for the places seen along the way.
In other words, the earphone tape is not confined to the spoken word alone. The sound effects bring the sights to life and to tie them in with the history of the city. The fascinating commentary is now available in no fewer than twelve languages: English, Finnish, French, German, Helsinki dialect, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and now Mandarin Chinese.
The bus for the Audio City Tour, accompanied regularly by a bus hostess, departs from the Esplanade Park on Fabianinkatu and from Viking Line Terminal in Katajanokka. The Guided City Tour, accompanied by a professional guide, has live commentary in English and Swedish. The departure point is the Olympia Terminal.
