The Helsinki-region is proud to house several Finnish higher education institutions and, depending on your interest, you will find a wide range of bachelor and master degree programmes in English. You can search for institutions by choosing a field of study which interests you or by choosing the university or university of applied sciences directly from the list.
The region combines pure nature and a safe environment with the latest technology and modern study and research facilities, including a number of well-equipped libraries and modern ICT facilities and laboratories. The universities are highly renowned for their top-quality research and education. The universities of applied sciences have strong links with the surrounding community, which promotes efficient and productive co-operation and helps students establish a bond with working life.
You can become familiar with the student life in Helsinki by reading international students’ experiences. The education system is flexible in Finland and students enjoy quite a lot of freedom in choosing their courses and minor subjects. The teacher-student relationship is non-hierarchical and students are challenged to independent, critical thinking.
