Home-school partnership
Co-operation between home and school is an important part of the activities of Helsinki schools.
It requires that both parties, parents and teachers, are active in and committed to it. Home-school partnership benefits students, parents and teachers alike.
PTA meetings, class committees and other kinds of parents meetings are all possible forms of co-operation. By participating actively in these activities parents can support the teaching and ethos that the school provides.
Parents are also welcome to contribute to the development of school work through membership of the school board or the parent-teacher association. HELVARY is the umbrella organisation for the parent-teacher associations of Finnish-language schools in Helsinki. The corresponding association for Swedish-language schools is Förbundet Hem och Skola i Finland rf.
