The City of Helsinki is Finland's biggest employer
The City of Helsinki has approximately 40,000 employees. It is the task of the City to safeguard its residents' well-being and provide services for them.
These services are provided by the City's employees representing 800 different tasks, including teachers, day-care employees, drivers, nurses, accountants, engineers and mechanics.

Temporary jobs can be applied for through Seure recruitment services, which is a joint recruitment service for the Cities of Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa. Particularly in health care, catering and day-care, locums are often needed even for short-time absences. The length of a temporary job varies from one day to several months.
