Cell and tissue dynamics research program

The research in the program elucidates the basic principles of cell and organelle dynamics, and molecular pathways that regulate organogenesis in vertebrate, invertebrate and plant model systems. The focus is on signalling networks that mediate cellular and tissue interactions, guiding diverse biological processes such as organelle dynamics, differentiation, stem and progenitor cell regulation, as well as their evolutionary aspects.
The following topics are of special interest
  • Regulation of stem cell behavior and the regulation of transcription
  • Cellular cytoskeletal and membrane dynamics
  • Inductive interactions in organogenesis
  • Evolutionary developmental biology
  • Neuronal regeneration
