CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS: PROTECT, RESPECT AND REMEDY

On October 20th 2011 the Finnish League for Human Rights will host the IV National Forum on Fundamental and Human Rights, focusing on the corporate responsibility to protect human rights and the implementation of the United Nations Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework. The UN Framework, endorsed by the Human Rights Council in June 2011, evokes the state duty to protect and the corporate responsibility to respect all human rights in all business activities and operating contexts. The Forum will include presentations and a high-level panel discussion by state, corporate, civil society and academic experts.

The event, organized in cooperation with the Erik Castrén Institute of International Law and Human Rights, will take place in the University of Helsinki main building, small festive hall (pieni juhlasali), Fabianinkatu 33, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
