Doctoral school in Environmental, Food and Biological Sciences (YEB)
The Doctoral School in Environmental, Food and Biological Sciences (Finnish acronym YEB for Ympäristö-, elintarvike- ja biotieteellinen tutkijakoulu) is multidisciplinary by nature and consists of six doctoral programmes. The research fields within the doctoral school typically integrate both basic and applied sciences. On the one hand, studies produce basic information on ecosystems and organisms while on the other hand they seek solutions to challenges such as environmental change, nature conservation, development needs of biotechnology and the need for a safe and sustainable food chain.
The purpose of the doctoral school is to provide all doctoral candidates with systematic supervision and high-quality education. Courses cover both academic topics and transferable skills. A personal supervisor is appointed for each doctoral candidate and a detailed study and follow-up plan is prepared.
All doctoral candidates within the YEB school are recommended to join the mailing list of the school, which is used to advertise the activities of the doctoral school.
Call for applications for UH funded doctoral candidate positions is open in September 2016.
