HCAS Translator Programme (2015-2016)

In addition to enhancing scholarly excellence in the human and social sciences, the Helsinki Collegium seeks to advance the interaction of science and art through special programmes established on funding from foundations. As a result, it organiseda programme for translators, funded by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation. The aim of the translator programme was to further the dialogue between scholarly research and artistic endeavour in its premises.

The translators were appointed on the basis of proposals and hence there is no formal application procedure. Successful candidates had a long experience in either fiction or non-fiction translation and they work on a culturally significant project.

The translators for the academic year 2015-16 were:

Sébastien Cagnoli (France)

Maria Pakkala (Finland)
