Erik Allardt Fellowship

Erik Allardt Fellowship – Promoting strong academic and cultural exchange between Finland and Sweden within a context of high quality research in the social and human sciences.

Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies offers a residential fellowship for one or two scholars having an affiliation with a university in Sweden per academic year. Candidates may come from any discipline within the humanities and social sciences. Early career as well as senior scholars are welcome to apply. The application may be for the entire academic year or alternatively for one academic semester.

The holder of the fellowship receives a monthly grant. We offer our fellows a thriving and stimulating collegial work environment in the center of Helsinki, surrounded by libraries and University of Helsinki central campus facilities and activities.

HCAS Erik Allardt Fellowships are funded by the Kone Foundation.

New Erik Allardt Fellows for 2018/2019 are Mika Vähäkangas (spring 2019) and Margrit Shildrick (spring 2019).

How to apply?

The call 2019/2020 will open in the autumn 2018.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae (maximum 4 pages), list of publications, a research proposal (maximum 5 pages), and two articles or one book chapter including a brief rationale for selecting the attached publications (100 words maximum in total for all selected publications). The final selection will be made by the Director of HCAS at the recommendation of an Academic Board.

Candidates must have an affiliation with a university in Sweden.
