COLLEGIUM'S EVENTS

The Helsinki Collegium organises dozens of events during the Academic year. There are three kinds of major events.

Collegium Lecture is the HCAS’s main annual event which takes place every spring. The speakers are well-known global academic figures. The list of former lecturers includes, inter alia, Carolyn Abbate, Carlo Ginsburg, John Dunn, Joan Scott, Nikolas Rose and Nancy Frazer.

There are also four HCAS Symposiums during the Academic year. Symposiums are proposed and organised by the fellows. They are interdisciplinary in nature and normally include several international invited speakers.

Collegium’s public lecture series is entitled Kympin sarja and it is held in Finnish. The series consists of ten lectures. Each lecture in the series has a pair of presenters speaking on the same general theme from a different angle.
