This page contains information about the software for Bayesian Analysis of Population Structure, which is currently available for Windows XP/2000/Vista/Win7, Mac OS X and Linux environments.

We will start rolling out BAPS 6.0 on Dec 17th 2012 for the different operative systems! Windows 7, Linux and Mac versions are uploaded.

You may find these (a bit outdated) introductory lecture notes and exercises helpful. Exercise data sets are here. The examples of data formatting referred to in the manual are in this zipped folder: ExamplesDataFormatting.zip. BAPS exists currently in five different generations for which the latest versions are, 2.1, 3.2, 4.14, 5.4 and 6.0. These software are all different to a certain extent. All the functionality of BAPS 3.2 is included in version 4.14, and similarly, all the functionality of 4.14 is included in 5.4, along with several new features. BAPS 6.0 introduces the spatial clustering model for DNA sequence data such that the output can be displayed on Google Maps using this tool and a tandem command line sw version (hierBAPS) for hierarchical clustering of sequences, along with a new tool for visualization of clustered multiple sequence alignments (for details see this paper). Details of the software versions are given in the respective manuals. General updated manual for BAPS 6.0 is here. Short reference and scientific citation guide is found on this page. All the different versions are freely available for academic use and come with no warranty whatsoever.
