The Department of
Biological and Environmental Sciences, University
of Helsinki, has established Spatial Ecology Research Programme.
The program is funded by the Academy of
Finland . The programme brings together different approaches to
spatial ecology. We have four research groups focusing on different
approaches to spatial ecology:
Symposium: Global Biodiversity and its Monitoring: focus on insects, Division of Population Biology, 20.4.1998
Workshop: Evolution of Dispersal, Tvärminne Zoological Station, Helsinki, 15 - 19.10.1998
Conference: Habitat Loss: Ecological, Evolutionary and Genetic Consequences, Hanasaari, Helsinki, 7 - 12.9.1999
Workshop: Urban Spatial Ecology, Helsinki, 3.11.2000
Workshop: Population Extinction: Processes, Patterns and Explanations, Tvärminne Zoological Station, Helsinki, 5 - 7.11.2000
Workshop: Genetic Analysis of Populations: the Importance of Population Dynamics and Demography, Tvärminne Zoological Station, 17 - 19.11.2001
