The PECC Group
Anthropogenic climate change will bring about novel combinations of environmental factors, which emphasizes the need for a real understanding of processes on whole plant level and ecosystem level in addition to the molecular level. Interspecific differences in key ecological attributes such as tolerance of winter freezing following warm periods may play a central role when assessing changes in ecological communities following future climatic change. Our group focuses on processes related to overwintering of trees and field layer plants in the Boreal zone. We incorporate both modelling and experimental methods in our research work.
